Do you have what it takes to be a Digital Mentor?

Support People who are blind or have low vision through their first steps to using computers and the internet, and improve their digital skills.

There are still many people who need help to use the Internet and learn essential digital skills.  Digital Mentors support people to build their confidence and skills to use digital technology.

Vision Australia has partnered with the Good Things Foundation and the Australian Government to run an exciting new program for our older clients. The Be Connected program uses Digital Mentors to inspire clients to try using technology and support them through the first steps of using computers, mobile devices and the internet.

We are seeking Volunteer Digital Mentors to join the Be Connected Team at Vision Australia.

Skills & Attributes:

·       General technology skills and a basic understanding of the Internet

·       Enthusiasm, adaptability, patience and a good listener

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       Work with people who are blind or have low vision

Travel:

Travel to clients homes and Vision Australia office locations may be required

Training:

Training will be provided both specific to the role and relating to the work of Vision Australia. This training will be face to face and online.
