Can you help on Wednesday the 20th of November?

The Guide Dogs Tasmania Street Appeal is fast approaching and we need YOU! Help us hit the streets of Hobart to raise $15,000 for Guide Dogs Tasmania.

Have some fun! Get involved! Get excited! About raising much needed funds to support the vital role Guide Dogs play!

Help change the lives of Tasmanians who are blind or vision impaired, giving them the gift independence, mobility, safety and quality of life all day, every day.

How can you LEND A PAW?

Take part in the Street Appeal on Wednesday the 20th of November Wear ORANGE, in any way you like, to show your sup-PAW-t (Crazy Outfits Will Be Rewarded!)

Spread the word amongst friends, family and colleagues - they may want to LEND A PAW too!

Support Guide Dogs and visit us on the day - Bring your change to make a change! Share your involvement on social media with the hashtag #LENDAPAW #GUIDEDOGSTAS

Volunteer to hold a mini dog money box and accept donations from the public for 2+ hours in Hobart CBD, Kingston, New Town or Glenorchy.

Hobart Collection volunteers meet at the Guide Dogs Pop Up Shop in Elizabeth Street Mall, Elizabeth Street, Hobart (Located outside the Hobart City Council information booth) 15 minutes prior to their volunteer collection time and collect their Mini Dog money box, volunteer ID badge, vest or t-shirt and Stickers to give away. Please bring a bottle of water and hat if it is hot!

HOBART - Collection time slots requiring volunteers in Hobart, on the 20th of November are; Time 1 - 8.30am to 10.30am Time 2 - 10.30am to 12.30pm Time 3 - 12.30pm to 2.30pm Time 4 - 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Set up camp in your designated area at your volunteer shift (Our Guide Dog staff sup-PAW-t crew and Guide Dogs in training will be nearby to help draw in the crowds!)

Return to the Guide Dogs Tasmania main office, 164 Elizabeth St, to sign out and hand in your full collection tin after your volunteer shift is finished. Our Ambassador dogs Dexter or Murphy will be there to welcome you with a well-earned cuppa and cuddle to say Thank you for the amazing efforts all our volunteers have contributed to the Event!

  • Please note - There is an degree of physical fitness required for this volunteer role as majority of points are standing only.

A few seated locations will also be available for those unable to stand for the 2 hour collection time.

Please advise on application if you require one of these seated positions.

KINGSTON, NEW TOWN AND GENORCHY - Collection time slots requiring volunteers in Kingston, New Town or Glenorchy are;

Time 1 – 9.30am to 12pm Time 2 – 12pm to 2.30pm Time 3 – 2.30pm to 5pm

We will have a Guide Dogs Team leader in each location to sign you in and offer support if required.
