About Us:

Furry Friends ARQ is a small not-for-profit organisation located in SEQ dedicated to minimising the large number of companion animals killed every year in pounds and shelters; and to educate people about the benefits of responsible pet ownership. Unlike traditional shelter models, Furry Friends ARQ is wholly virtual, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.

The Role:

The HR Recruitment Officer will manage a large range of tasks across the recruitment function, including but not limited to, developing position descriptions, writing job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, organising interviews, drafting interview questions, conducting reference checks and credentialing and will ensure successful on-boarding of all volunteers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and perform recruitment activities e.g. research role requirements, draft and review position descriptions and job ads, post and market job ads, review and shortlist applications, and interview candidates to make recommendations to line managers.
  • Manage recruitment channels to attract suitably qualified candidates
  • Perform employment activities including all onboarding of new team members, such as adding to systems, and Facebook groups, managing users in Google Workspace for NFP.
  • Manage all administrative tasks and checklists for recruitment and onboarding - this role involves a significant amount of admin.
  • Perform exit procedures for volunteers who are leaving or transferring to other divisions.
  • Reporting monthly KPI's for the team.
  • Any other HR tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Understand the organisation and its roles to identify gaps in recruitment.
  • Create quality position descriptions and job adverts to attract the right talent.

Requirements: To be considered, you will have:

  • Minimum Certificate IV or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years’ proven experience in a HR generalist role and proven experience in recruitment
  • Working knowledge of Messenger, Facebook, Google Workspace
  • Working knowledge of VIKTOR and Shelter Manager ideal but not mandatory, as you will be trained.
  • Regular access to a computer with internet connection (at your own expense).
  • Proactive and able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Genuine desire and commitment to help re-home companion animals.
