Cub Scouts & Scouts Leaders - 1st Valentine Scout Group

1st Valentine Scouts

1st Valentine Scout Group is looking for Cub Leaders (kids aged 8 to 11) and Scout Leaders (kids aged 11 to 14).

You are an enthusiastic, energetic, adventurous volunteer who likes working with children! An interest in sharing skills, organising games, leading outdoor activities, devising and guiding activities with children working towards their badges, and a strong community spirit, are all important.

Our Cubs and Scouts groups are for girls and boys. Cubs meet on Tuesday evenings and Scouts on Thursday evenings.

The groups enjoy a variety of activities including themed nights, craft or science projects, badge work and games, cycling, swimming or canoeing - plus the occasional weekend excursion, activity or camp.

As well as an ability to engage with and lead our scouts in their indoor and outdoor activities, you’ll need good communication and organisation skills to plan and implement the program (in conjunction with at least one other Leader). Leaders plan and organise the term’s program in advance, and lead the weekly activities and excursions and accompany the group on weekend events or camps, often with other local or regional Scouts groups.

Working with the team on ideas and events to fundraise for the group is also a valuable skill.

A Working with Children check is required.

Full training to be a Leader is provided, on-the-job as well as formal training, which is free. Formal training takes place over one night and 2 weekends in the initial 6-12 month period. This training leads to Cert 3 qualification in Frontline Management for those who complete the full course. Ongoing leaders' information and training meetings are held once per month in the local area.

TO APPLY - Please include some background information about yourself such as A) your relevant experience and qualifications, and B) why you are interested in becoming a Cub Scout Leader or Scout Leader. Thank you!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
