The Oxfam Australia Events Team is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable volunteer to support national fundraising events, in particular Oxfam Trailwalker.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a national events team and speak to inspiring participants. They’re eager to challenge themselves and make a real difference to people living in poverty, and we’re looking for a volunteer who feels the same!

This role requires a minimum commitment of 3 hours per week, on a Tuesday evening from 5pm - 8pm, for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

KEY TASKS:

• Calling Oxfam Trailwalker event participants, especially in regards to fundraising for Oxfam Australia (warm calls only)
• Calling people who have expressed an interest in participating at Oxfam Trailwalker to inform them about the event (warm calls only)
• Data entry
• Opportunities to assist the Event Team on events in Melbourne

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Telemarketing experience (desirable)
• Confident and friendly telephone manner (essential)
• Confident working with computers (essential)
• Fundraising experience (desirable)
• Commitment to the role and to Oxfam Australia’s value (essential)
• Oxfam Trailwalker experience as volunteer or participant (desirable)
• Commitment to the role and to Oxfam Australia’s values

TRAINING/SUPERVISION PROVIDED:

• Volunteers will be providing with training and supervised by the National Events Team in particular the Events Fundraising Support Coordinator and Oxfam Trailwalker staff based in Melbourne.
• Insights into Trailwalker event and events fundraising
• Introduction to Oxfam via the Volunteer Induction process
