Our service needs an authentic and non-judgemental person looking to gain valuable experience in the social and community services sector, or otherwise seeking purposeful and fulfilling work assisting some of the most disadvantaged members in the community. We are seeking a friendly, caring and reliable volunteer to provide support to individuals and families accessing our Emergency Relief program.

The program provides assistance to individuals and families experiencing financial crisis. We provide short-term assistance with food, fuel cards, personal hygiene products and utility bills, along with referrals to help people get back on their feet.

As an Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for the individual or family regarding their situation. You will greet clients on arrival to the service, conduct an initial eligibility check to confirm whether they are eligible for an appointment and provide information about the services in a respectful and compassionate way. You will also undertake other administrative duties such as answering the telephone and maintaining client records.

Uniting is committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, volunteering with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and Working With Children Check (in Victoria) and/or Working With Vulnerable People Check (in Tasmania) prior to commencement of any paid or unpaid work and/or participation in any service or undertaking.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
