SNOTS Team Overview

The NSW Schools Network Outreach Team (SNOTs) works with schools in NSW to encourage action around Amnesty International’s human rights work. As a member of the NSW SNOTs team, you will join a global network of committed individuals that will support your personal activist pursuits, and will also provide you the opportunity to empower the younger generation in their activism.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and presenting your knowledge of current events and human rights issues with young people.
  • Visiting schools around the state to engage with passionate students.
  • Creating workshops and presentations catered towards young people.
  • Managing a social media presence for NSW SNOTs.
  • Basic administrative tasks (e.g. replying to emails, recording data).
  • Being able to commit to a minimum of three hours per week for SNOTs work (dependent on workload). _Work can be completed in __member’s own time according to their flexibility\, but must be completed by set _deadlines.
  • Be available for either online or in-person meetings.
  • Respecting AIA’s policies, including those in regards to impartiality and independence.

Internal:

  • NSW SNOTs members and leaders
  • Amnesty staff

External:

  • Young people (ages 10-18) within our community
  • Teachers within our community
  • Organisations who express interest in partnering with Amnesty

Selection Criteria:

  • Why would you like to join the NSW SNOTs?
  • What is your experience working with young people?
  • Do you have any experience in public speaking or social media and communications?
  • Do you have experience working in team environments?
  • Are you able to commit to at least 3 hours per week and one in-person or online meeting every 3-4 weeks?
