Fencing was one of the first sports to be played in the Olympic Games and the Australian Fencing Circuit #3 - 2023, will take place in Canberra, at the AIS Basketball Courts over the last two weekend in August.

If you are you looking to get more involved with the ACT community, meet new people or know more about this awesome sport, then this is your opportunity!

The ACT Fencing Association needs you to form part of the Set-up and Pack-up Set-up team to prepare the AIS Basketball Courts to be the competition area for the Australian Fencing Circuit #3.

Being part of these teams will have you participating, under supervision of ACTFA directors, into activities such as:

Set-up team, on 18 or 25 August, anytime from 1pm to 5:30pm.

• Laying out pistes and cabling.
• Placing carpet squares around pistes.
• Setting out chairs and tables.
• Preparing rooms for the Officials and volunteers.
• Hanging signs and putting up crowd barriers.

Pack-up team, on 20 or 27 August, anytime from 1pm to 5pm:

• Help to remove fencing competition equipment from the AIS Arena.
• Dismantling pistes and returning them to trolleys
• Packing up carpet, tables, chairs and barriers
• Removing signage and rubbish from Arena and attached areas.

These activities may involve heavy lifting.

No previous knowledge of Fencing is required.
