ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The TAC L2P Program matches Volunteer Mentors with a Learner Driver (16 – 20 years of age) as their in-car Supervising Driver. Eligible young people in the Program do not have access to a fully licenced adult, vehicle or traditional supports to accrue the 120 hours of driving experience to achieve their Probationary Licence. Volunteers assist the Learners to build their confidence and awareness of safe driving practice as well as being a positive role model.
To become involved you must have the following attributes: • A Full Victorian Driver’s licence and a good driving record • A minimum of 2 hours a week for a minimum period of 12 months • A positive attitude with the ability to support, supervise and inspire safe driving practice • Patience, and the ability to build self-esteem and confidence • Be open to further training, feedback and professional development
