Launceston Regional Representative

    Regional Representatives volunteer for 10 to 14 hours per month, including some weekends.

    You will receive training in our processes and procedures, as well as in the aspects of the role that are new to you, such as team management, recruitment, communications, and event coordination.

    You must have permission to volunteer in Australia, as well as a driver's licence and your own car. You will also need space to store merchandise and equipment.

About the role of Regional Representative The role of Regional Representative is all about team management, fundraising and event coordination. Regional Representatives play a crucial role in The Orangutan Project to raise much-needed funds to save orangutans and their rainforest homes. You will receive training and support in aspects of this exciting role.

The role includes:

  • recruiting and training volunteers
  • managing and guiding your team of volunteers
  • planning and coordinating events
  • coordinating stalls at local markets and community festivals
  • managing and ordering merchandise
  • communicating with your volunteers
  • attending regular online Rep Meetings to support and learn from your fellow Reps

About you You're passionate about the environment, especially about protecting and saving orangutans and other species from extinction. You are good with people and like getting out and about in your local community. You have time and energy, and you want to make a difference.

You may be someone who is looking for a role where you can develop skills that will take you far. You're interested in event coordination or environmental science, and you're keen to learn new skills or build on existing skills. This role is a great step in your career and will give you the skills and experience to help you achieve your goals.

Alternatively, you may have experience in all the responsibilities of this role, and you're looking for a new opportunity with a great cause. You know you can guide your team of Fundraising and Events Volunteers and you love coordinating events and market stalls.
