Multicap is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Events Intern to assist with a number of upcoming events and campaigns.

Founded in 1962, Multicap has over 55 years' experience in providing assistance to people with a disability, specialising in high and complex needs. Started by six families who believed in the capabilities of their children, Multicap became a champion of possibility for people with disability and their families all over QLD and Northern NSW.

About the role: This is an ideal opportunity for somebody studying Events Management, Marketing or Business Administration to gain hands on practical experience working in a team environment. Working at our Eight Mile Plains office supported by the Marketing, Communications & Events General Manager and Events Coordinator, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with the planning and execution of events including a Fashion Show, Carols Festival, Staff Gala function and a Conference

• Managing the Christmas Gift Wrapping Project, including liaising with and rostering volunteers

• Assisting with managing memberships and receipting donations

• Writing copy for social media posts and email marketing relating to events campaigns

• General administration tasks including data entry and assisting with research projects

Time commitment:

Minimum of 2-4 days per week ongoing.

We have multiple opportunities available and are flexible about what days and times you volunteer.

Skills required:

• An interest in Events Management, Marketing, Business Administration or similar

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Eye for detail

• Ability to follow instructions and will work well within a team

• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills

• Confident phone manner

• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

• Driver’s license (preferred)

• Blue Card and Yellow Card or ability to obtain
