Friends of the Hospital Volunteer

St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside

Our wonderful Volunteers not only assist with departments in the hospital, we also support patients through our fundraising and sewing initiatives!

Our newly launched Friends of the Hospital Program will see you responding to requests for assistance with a range of different services - all with the goal of supporting patients in our care.

Our Friends of the Hospital volunteers can contribute in a variety of ways including:

Sewing - we currently make fiddle blankets & maze runs which we donate to patients with Dementia or Alzheimer's while they are here in hospital. All materials are provided for making these wonderful blankets and mazes. We are also looking into make quilts for our cancer patients and we love to sew items to sell at our fundraising stall (children's clothing or anything that might sell).

Crochet - we crochet hearts that are distributed in special cases on our wards\, you will be provided appropriate wool.

Cancer Support - we are planning to make turbans and drain bags in the near future and again all materials and patterns will be provided.

Baking - we host a bake sale 3 times a year to raise funds for our volunteer services. For example we raised funds at our recent Fathers Day stall\, to purchase items for our oncology Art Therapy Trolley.

All of these opportunities can be done right in your own home!! Every now and then you will need to come to the hospital to collect supplies or drop off your baking (Mothers day, Fathers day and Christmas) and we would love to invite you to any training or volunteer meetings that might interest you.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
