Epilepsy QueenslandPosition Description Governance - • Advise the Board on matters of finance • Ensure adequate financial and internal audit controls • Ensure the Board maintains the level of financial literacy necessary to conduct the business of the organisation • Ensure financial information facilitates good financial governance Meetings - • Attend all Board meetings (held once every two months) and ensure necessary financial items are on the Board agenda in advance • Report to the Board at each meeting • Report to the members at the Annual General Meeting • Meet with the CEO and Operations Manager regularly Finance and Management - • Oversee the organisation's accounting by the Operations Manager in conjunction with the CEO • Co-sign electronic banking on a weekly basis • Oversee the asset register • Ensure Epilepsy Queensland has adequate financial controls and appropriate safeguards • Ensure risk management strategies are in place, and bring financial risks to the attention of the Board • Prepare the Budget with the Operations Manager and CEO • Monitor cash flow • Review longer term forecasts of capital resources and finances, and monitor financial trends within the organisation and the not for profit sector • Lead the Finance and Audit Sub-committee Other - • the duties of a Director the Board
