Volunteer Team leader for Friendly Visiting Program in Aged Care Mornington Peninsula Area

The Team Leader Role is a wonderful opportunity to show your leadership skills, and learn all about our Community Visiting Programs. This role requires availability during business hours, especially on a Wednesday. Meetings will be held every 2 months on Wednesday afternoons 1.30 - 2.30 when face to face is permitted.

You will gradually learn and take on the following:

Assess clients and explain the Friendly Visiting Service. Interview volunteers and complete paperwork which is to be sent to a Social Support Coordinator. Keep all volunteers updated on dates for meetings/socials. Encourage the independence and self-esteem of the team members. Increase volunteer participation in activities and facilitate interaction within the aged care facility or community when appropriate. Attend a team leader conference yearly in October. Find a match among the volunteers and introduce the visitor to his/her new friend/client. Organise and run team meetings to discuss how everyone is doing, and plan social events together.
