Shuttle Bus Driver - Darwin NT

The Salvation Army (TSA) Darwin Corps is looking for a mission volunteer to join the team as a volunteer shuttle bus driver!  The volunteer shuttle bus driver will assist with providing transport to and from the Holtze Correction Centre for people visiting prisoners.

  • Shows empathy for all clients and ensures that the needs of the client remains the key focus

  • Respects differences in culture, styles and views of others and respectfully provides own point of view
  • Identifies and analyses client needs and respects boundaries and limits of own role and capabilities
  • Prioritises and performs role and responsibilities efficiently
  • Understands the impact of decisions and acts to resolve issues promptly

Role Required Tasks

  • Provide quality transport service to those requiring transport to the Holtze Correction Centre
  • Assist clients to and from vehicle (avoiding undertaking physical lifting or personal care duties)
  • Operate in a manner that promotes effective teamwork, good relationships with service providers and service users
  • Be prompt, courteous and respectful when interacting with residents, families and colleagues

Qualifications and experience requirements for the Role

  • Previous experience driving a commercial passenger vehicle
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to work as a part of a team

Mandatory requirements of the Role

  • Fully complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration process
  • Criminal History (Police Check) Check required
  • Have current Ochre card
  • Maintain a current NT driver’s licence – “LR” class with H Endorsement
  • Complete TSA volunteer Authority to Drive form
  • Complete TSA induction modules and any other training as required
