Fishcare Volunteers raise awareness in the fishing community about:

  • protection
  • preservation
  • conservation of our fishing resources.

What they do Fishcare Volunteers help promote the rules and regulations for fishing in South Australia. This is undertaken by patrol activities and attending shows. Their tasks include:

  • giving advice and assistance to the public
  • educating recreational fishers about South Australian fishing rules and regulations
  • handing out fisheries information brochures and educational devices
  • attending community events throughout the state.

Where they work Fishcare Volunteers are found in:

  • Metropolitan Adelaide - North and South
  • Upper Riverland
  • Yorke Peninsula
  • Limestone Coast.

You’ll find them at jetties, beaches, boat ramps and rivers – anywhere that fishing takes place.

Anyone over the age of 18 can become a Fishcare Volunteer. All you need is an interest in conserving our fisheries resources and to be willing to help provide information to the fishing public
