Girl Guides Australia is one of the largest not-for-profit organisations in Australia for girls and young women. Girl Guides provides a unique girls only space where girls are encouraged by Leaders and peers to explore their personal boundaries, in a safe and secure atmosphere. Through this, girls learn that they can do anything.

Our Volunteer Leaders and Unit Helpers help the girls (and each other) to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members through our focus on fundamentals such as community service, leadership, self-awareness and team work - these are skills that will last them a lifetime.

Being a Unit Leader, Assistant Leader or Unit Helper is a rewarding experience it offers personal development and the chance to make a difference to girls' lives.

We are looking for a Unit Leader, Assistant Leader and Unit Helper all our units at Everton Park District Girl Guides, Brisbane North.

Gumnut Unit 5-7 year olds Saturdays 2pm-4pm

Brownie Unit 7-10 year olds Saturdays 2pm-4pm

Gumtree Unit 7-10 year olds Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm

Garuwa Unit 10-17 year olds Fridays 6:30pm-8:30pm

Moerlina Unit 10-14 year olds Fridays 6:30pm-8:00pm 14-17 year olds Fridays 6:30pm-8:30pm

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS

UNIT LEADER 3-4 hours per week (school terms only) including 2 hour guide meeting Occasional weekend events Plan meeting programs using Australian Guide Programming Attend Monthly District/Support Group meetings

ASSISTANT LEADER / UNIT HELPER 2 - 2.5 hours per week (school terms only) including 2 hour guide meeting Occasional weekend events Assist leader with running the meeting Attend monthly District/Support Group meetings

There will also be opportunities to attend local, state, national and international camps and events.

Training (both leadership and specialised skill training) and uniforms are provided for these roles.

Applicants will need to undergo a Blue Card Working with Children Check & obtain a current First Aid Certificate (opportunities for first aid training are provided).

Everton Park District Girl Guides are based at our Guide Hut at Teralba Park, Pullen Rd.
