This role involves providing high quality customer focused and professional Front of House services for performances, functions and events managed by Capital Venues and Events. You will be reporting directly to  the Front of House Supervisor and Technical Operations Manager.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to provide good customer service adhering to CoGB's Customer Service Charter.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to relate to a wide range of people of all levels

  • Ability to follow direct instructions

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Substantial experience in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of the arts and entertainment or similar industry
  • A demonstrated understanding of safety and security issues relating to public buildings
  • Current working with Children Check

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to all patrons
  • Perform ushering duties as directed by the Front of House Supervisor
  • Flyer and programme distribution, as required
  • Monitor doors as directed by the Front of House Supervisor, check tickets and assist patrons to find their seats as required
  • Open and close auditorium doors quickly and quietly for any patrons wishing to leave or enter the auditorium during the performance, ensuring the least inconvenience to other patrons
  • Remain stationed at the auditorium doors during interval
  • Close doors after interval as directed by the Front of House Supervisor
  • Ensure all patrons are cleared from the auditorium at the end of the performance, and check for any rubbish or theatre glasses
  • Ensure appropriate behaviour is maintained, with a polite and friendly manner and attend to the general security of the facility as required
  • Act as wardens in the event of an emergency and evacuation as outlined in the Capital Venues & Events' Emergency Plans
  • Report any incident, however minor, to the Front of House Supervisor
  • To offer general assistance to patrons, and be the first point of contact

Extent of Authority:

  • Assisting patrons at entertainment events
  • Guidance and advice is always available from the Front of House Supervisor
  • This position is hands-on with a strong customer service focus. The freedom to act is governed by standards and procedures set out by the Front of House Supervisor and Technical Operations Manager.
