Volunteer Minibus Driver
The Royal Society for the BlindThe Royal Society for the Blind is a not-for-profit organisation and has a rich history of providing outstanding quality care and services to Australians who have a severe vision impairment. These services are delivered by a professional, committed and highly qualified team supported by volunteers, drawn from all age groups and walks of life.
Volunteer Minibus Drivers will be responsible for driving one of the RSB’s 12-seater minibuses either from Noarlunga Downs, Smithfield or Gilles Plains to transport clients from their private residence to Social Group activities, events and as part of the new Community Bus Shopping pilot program.
Role responsibilities
- Plan appropriate road routes to sites
- As directed, pick up/drop off clients for appoints
- Refuel the bus to ensure that the vehicle has at least ¼ of a tank of fuel at the time of drop off
- Remove any rubbish etc. from the bus to ensure it is in a clean and tidy state
- Complete vehicle check paperwork and report any mechanical/maintenance issues to supervisor
- Adhere to RSB’s Guidelines and Policies & Procedures and South Australian Road Safety regulations
- Maintain and help to promote a good image of The Royal Society for the Blind
