Aurous Plus is an initiative of Aurous, where isolated elderly people are given call-ready computer tablets and participate in a weekly video call with a volunteer “video visitor”. That visitor could be you.

Aurous Plus aims to enrich the quality of life of residents of aged care homes, or their own home, who may be socially isolated or lonely, whether it be for social or cultural reasons or due to disability. The program is federally funded and works to connect socially isolated seniors with volunteers for regular social interaction. The only cost to you will be a little time and a little data.

Very little training is needed, but we will provide full training in how to Skype, what to talk about and how to be an effective part of our Aurous Plus team.
