Community Transport Driver
St John (Qld)Volunteer Community Transport Drivers provide and facilitate a direct transport service, addressing the special needs of clients, for St John Qld Community Services utilising fleet vehicles. This includes securing wheelchairs / scooters and checking seatbelts are secure.
Volunteer drivers are required to provide safe and assisted door-to-door community transport to eligible people aged over 65 years, or people with a disability and their carers to:
- Medical appointments
- Shopping centres
- Visits to family and friends
- Social outings and group day trips
- Church, community and cultural groups and activities.
Skills required: Current Qld Open Drivers Licence; Safe Driving Record; Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check; Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities; Ability to maintain confidentiality.
