Accounts Assistant – Financial Assistance Services Volunteer

Cancer Council NSW is a community funded, community focused cancer charity dedicated to working towards a cancer free future. There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.

About Financial Assistance Services Financial Assistance Services team offers financial assistance to people affected by cancer and financial hardship by assisting with unpaid utility bills, essentials like food and petrol. This program offers assistance to 2500 cancer patients annually.

Outline of the role: Supporting the Financial Assistant Services team and based at Woolloomooloo you will be: • Processing accounts payable transactions in database • Managing account related queries with service providers • Managing and recording payments • Supporting the Financial Assistance team in managing accounts • Engaging with service providers • Ensuring information in the database is updated in an accurate and timely manner.

Our ideal volunteer will have: • Proficiency and past experience in managing accounts payable transactions • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel. • Experience in using databases • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a great telephone manner • Strong administration skills • Attention to detail • Commitment to the cancer cause and the mission of Cancer Council NSW

Desirable: • Willingness to solve problems
