Team Leader for Accessible Beaches Project
Volunteering Gold CoastYou can be an individual or a group who would like to volunteer during the patrol season, one or more weekends from September 28th to 2nd May 2020. As a volunteer Team Leader, you will be required to ensure your team carries out all necessary duties.
General Daily duties:
• Roll out the beach mats; following the direction of the Team Leader or Patrol Captain on duty.
• Setup the marquee(s) and have all equipment “ready to go” including waiver forms, surveys and other documents used for data collection.
• Greet the service users and provide a demonstration on how to use the equipment.
• Ensure the carer and user have signed the necessary paperwork to allow them to access the beach mats and/or the equipment.
• Have the ability to setup/pack up the equipment which may require physical agility.
• Ensure the carer and/or service user completes the feedback survey OR provides an email address for follow up.
• Provide information to the person(s) concerned of the weather conditions and offer sunscreen and other assistive technology
• Be present and available to assist the service user and carer when appropriate.
• Provide a “helping hand” to anyone that wants to use the beach mats.
• Provide assistance to those who need guidance with accessible parking
• Report any concerns or queries to the Volunteer Leader and/or the Patrol Captain.
