Organisation Overview: The Centre is a not for profit neighborhood house and adult community education centre, situated in Errol Street, North Melbourne. The Centre runs programs and activities that respond to the needs of the North and West Community to foster belonging, community spirit, reduce the social dislocation, and improve the wellbeing of community members. The Centre is the producer of the annual Spring Fling Street Festival.

Festival Overview: The Spring Fling Street Festival has been part of the communities of North and West Melbourne for over 40 years. The festival aims to strengthen the connectedness of the community and promote a sense of belonging. The Spring Fling explores our community and what connects us to North and West Melbourne. We want to celebrate the fact that our urban village of North and West Melbourne has everything we need to work, live, study and recreate all in the same area. Spring Fling Festival aims to capture all this and celebrate and showcase our connections.

Volunteer Overview: We have volunteer positions to suit people of all ages and experience, with most volunteer shifts being approximately 5hrs.

We have shifts available that start from 6am and finish at 8pm. Some of the volunteer positions include: Site Crew Kids Activities Volunteer Coordinator Assistants Spring Fling Information Dog Show Assistants Social Media Assistants Conducting short surveys Street Decorating Photographer Stage Crew Videographer

The Spring Fling is a fantastic festival to be involved in, and there are many benefits to joining our volunteer team. Volunteers will be acknowledged through certificates of appreciation, and we will provide reference letters on request. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to meet people, give back to the community, and gain experience in a high-volume event.

Besides, we require from you a valid Working with Children (WWC) Check.
