Volunteer ESL Teachers are needed on Saturday mornings by an Organisation that runs structured English classes for the CALD community in Liverpool. The classes are coordinated by a Volunteer and delivered by qualified ESL Teachers who offer their time and expertise within a volunteer capacity.

About The Role:

  • This is a great opportunity to further your experience and apply your skills in a semi-structured course
  • Teachers are encouraged to use this time and space to try creative activities which will add to their teaching experience
  • Opportunities for mentoring and support can be provided by their highly experienced Senior ESL Teacher
  • Commitment required is 12 Saturdays for class (10.30am–12pm) + 1 hour of preparation per week, from 14th September–30th November 2019
  • Site induction provided for all Volunteers

About You:

  • Minimum qualifications in ESL, ESOL or a degree/teaching qualification recognised by TAFE NSW or equivalent
  • Experience in facilitation and teaching adults
  • Experience in delivering sessions through engaging and innovative teaching methods, including drama (desirable)
  • Ability to employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
  • Commitment to preparing and delivering beginner and intermediate lessons to non-native English speakers, on a weekly basis, for 12 continuous weeks
  • Demonstrated experience in planning lessons, including a high level of organisational skills
  • Strong desire to improve the English language skills of students
  • Understanding and respect for different cultures
