One Door Mental Health is committed to improving the circumstances and welfare of people with a mental health condition, their relatives and carers, and professionals working in the area.Volunteers should have an interest in the field of mental health and be sensitive to the needs of people with mental illness and their carers. More about the duties:

The Hornsby Kuringai Association Mental Health Support Group has been together since the mid-1980s and has provided support and education for many people as well as raising money for local mental health services and mental health research.

Tasks·     

• Read and evaluate incoming mental health information·
• Liaise with the group committee regarding the newsletter and the content  ·          Edit the gathered information and set it into the newsletter format for online distribution·
• Email the newsletter, with the meeting information notice, to the group members and supporters·
• (Optional) Attend the monthly meetings and contribute to the group organisation·
•   (Optional) Edit the group’s other online presence (Facebook etc)

•   Email skills (probably using an online email service; e.g. gmail)·
•   Reading and writing skills·
•    Newsletter layout skills (probably using word and the online email service or an online newsletter server)·
• Basic database skills (probably excel)
