The Salvation Army Gosnells Corps, is a community church that seeks to provide an outreach service to the poor and marginalised, with a holistic approach to social and personal development by caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community. The Salvation Army Gosnells offers community meals with the purpose of alleviating social isolation by facilitating friendships and community spirit through the provision of their Thursday lunches.

Gosnells Corps is looking for friendly faces to join their Community Lunch Team which meets Thursday fortnightly to serve a delicious meal to all who attend. The Volunteer Kitchen Hand Role is perfect for someone passionate about their community, a mature person with skills to share, or a person wishing to gain workplace experience and relevant employment experience. The Kitchen Hand role facilitates the behind the scenes tasks which assist the chef including preparing for the meal and tidying up afterward.

A typical day would involve a time commitment of 9am-1:30pm every second Thursday, with the possibility of moving to weekly in the coming months.

Induction and ongoing training provided. Kitchen Hand experience preferred but not essential. A good understanding of hygiene is required to be successful in this role.
