Fairhaven Recovery Centre - Detox Unit - at Eagle Heights Queensland is looking for a superstar admin volunteer to join the team. A core value of the Salvation Army is to support the basic needs of individuals experiencing disadvantage and communities in times of disaster.  The Administration and Service Assistant (Detox unit) provides administration and practical support to the Detox unit team. Attention and adherence to the appropriate protocols and policies is an important part of the role. Safety and well-being of self and others is vital and there is a requirement to identify and report hazards and incidents when they occur.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Providing assistance with general administrative duties including data entry, scanning and photocopying of documents
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks including typing of documents, preparing of spread-sheets, retrieving of information and data using current computer packages or systems.
  • Reception duties including responding to or redirecting emails and phone calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Monitoring and speaking to visitors at the remote main entry
  • Provide support in preparing the detox unit rooms for incoming recovery patients and tidying/cleaning rooms after departure.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy environment by monitoring, addressing and reporting any health and safety concerns within the premises.

Fairhaven Recovery Centre is a place of genuine healing and support, set in a beautiful rainforest environment in the Tamborine Mountain region. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in administration, use of databases, and customer service.  Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge is a requirement. Experience working with vulnerable people is preferred. First aid qualification highly regarded but not essential.

Mandatory requirements for this role are;

  • completion of Salvation Army's volunteer registration process
  • The willingness to support The Salvation Army's mission and values
  • Current Criminal History Check (police check) required
  • completion of The Salvation Army's induction modules and any other training as required.

Time commitment required is: 5-15 hours per week flexible, as negotiated with line manager, 1-3 days per week flexible for ongoing period.
