UnitingCare is a health and community service provider and supports more than 14,000 people throughout the state every day of the year. Volunteering is an important aspect of the service we deliver to our clients.
The purpose of this role is to be the voice of youth for UnitingCare and help formulate strategy to increase youth engagement and volunteering at UnitingCare. With over 9,000 volunteers in our hospitals, Blue Care, Lifeline, Crisis Support and community programs, we aim to grow volunteering to ensure we can be there for the people who need our services. Recognising that the youth are our future, this new role will ensure we have an excellent youth lens on our growth.
Role responsibilities include: • Formulate strategy to increase youth engagement and volunteering at UnitingCare • Review volunteering programs from a youth perspective • Conduct research on current best practice and emerging trends in youth volunteering • Contact review on current youth numbers in UnitingCare • Represent UnitingCare at universities and community expos • Provide advice on volunteer recognition on a youth perspective • Advise team on social media and emerging technology • Youth perspective on Key Performance Indicators • Attend the monthly group meeting • Prepare reports for management • Attend team meetings and recognition events
