Marine Debris Collection and Analysis in Caloundra

Conservation Volunteers Australia
Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

Throughout 2019 and 2020, CVA will be running marine debris collection and analysis projects at Caloundra the first Saturday of every month. Volunteers can either meet the team on site at 10am or at our Brisbane office in Morningside at 7:50am.

This is a free, nature-based, well-being initiative that aims to bring people together to contribute to their community through practical conservation activities to create cleaner, sustainable green spaces.

Working at Dicky, Shelly and Moffat Beach, CVA volunteers will be collecting marine debris to prevent harmful materials such as rope, nets and plastics from being washed into the ocean and consumed by/entangling our marine life. All debris that is collected from these activities will be recorded and the data will be provided to the Tangaroa Blue Foundation for analysis, a national database on marine debris which helps to identify source polluters.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
