Kate is a young lady in her mid 20’s, living in the Girrawheen area. She has a mild intellectual disability and works part-time in supported employment.

Kate likes to go shopping as well as catching up for a cuppa and a chat. She likes animals, going to the movies and spending time with her mum.

As an advocate you could help Kate to spend more time with her mum, who also has an intellectual disability. As Kates friend you could be a mentor and offer advice when needed.

You don’t need any special qualifications or experience just a big heart and a willingness to make a positive difference.
