We are seeking a Certified Practicing Accountant, Chartered Accountant or equivalent. Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) accreditation is highly desirable along with relevant board and governance experience with not for profit charitable organisations. A demonstrable interest in arts, community and cultural development will be well regarded.

We are an incorporated non-profit association, and a Tax Concession Charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status, funded through a deed of grant through the ACT's Key Arts Organisation program

In addition to the fiduciary duties applying to all Board Members, the Treasurer has a key role in:

  1. Maintaining oversight of BAC’s financial administration ensuring implementation of agreed financial practices and policies
  2. Preparing for, attending and actively participating in Board and Executive and Finance Subcommittee meetings
  3. Providing regular and scheduled assessments of the organisation’s fiscal health and ensuring required financial reporting to regulatory authorities
  4. Keeping the Board informed of key financial events, trends and concerns
  5. Working with the Co-CEOs, to prepare the annual budget for the Board’s approval
  6. Ensuring the Board reviews and develops required financial policies and procedures
  7. Providing strategic financial advice and support to Board members and staff
