Belconnen Arts CentreWe are seeking a Certified Practicing Accountant, Chartered Accountant or equivalent. Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) accreditation is highly desirable along with relevant board and governance experience with not for profit charitable organisations. A demonstrable interest in arts, community and cultural development will be well regarded.

We are an incorporated non-profit association, and a Tax Concession Charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status, funded through a deed of grant through the ACT's Key Arts Organisation program
In addition to the fiduciary duties applying to all Board Members, the Treasurer has a key role in:
- Maintaining oversight of BAC’s financial administration ensuring implementation of agreed financial practices and policies
- Preparing for, attending and actively participating in Board and Executive and Finance Subcommittee meetings
- Providing regular and scheduled assessments of the organisation’s fiscal health and ensuring required financial reporting to regulatory authorities
- Keeping the Board informed of key financial events, trends and concerns
- Working with the Co-CEOs, to prepare the annual budget for the Board’s approval
- Ensuring the Board reviews and develops required financial policies and procedures
- Providing strategic financial advice and support to Board members and staff
