Volunteer Packaged Food Products Mentor

The purpose of this role is to help women with refugee, asylum seeker or migrant backgrounds (known as ‘SisterWorks Entrepreneurs’) to develop their own packaged food products which are saleable in shops and markets.

Role Responsibilities

  • To mentor SisterWorks entrepreneurs (one-on-one) who have an idea for a packaged food product to turn it into a reality
  • To assist with development (where required) and taste testing of potential products, and providing advice on recipe formulation if needed
  • To educate SisterWorks entrepreneurs around the standards required to produce commercial food products
  • To ensure product labels meet local laws and requirements

Desired experience and qualifications:

  • Experience in the packaged food industry
  • An understanding of laws and requirements around packaged food

Compulsory requirements:

  • Working with Children Check (or Police Check). If you do not have either, you can apply for a Working with Children Check for free.
  • Own laptop
