Louise Multicultural Community Centre (LMCC) is looking for new committee members to join our organisation. LMCC is governed by a volunteer committee of management with members being selected each year at our annual general meeting. As a committee member, you will work in a team to set and review the strategic decisions, approve organisational policies, ensure current & long-term financial stability of the organisation. You will also be involved in ensuring the centre is meeting the needs of the local and wider community. LMCC provides a range of services both at the centre and, at times, in the wider community. These include (but are not limited to) programs or projects in adult community and education, participation through volunteering, social inclusion, job readiness, music and movement, languages other than English, community resilience, skill sharing and social activity to reduce isolation. The COM provides LMCC with community “governance”, which includes developing strategic plans, policies, permanent staff appointment, monitoring finances and overseeing delivery of legal and contractual obligations. The COM acts as the voice of our membership in line with the aims and objectives detailed in our Constitution. LMCC is looking for energetic, passionate people to: • Influence policy decisions impacting the organisation • Build community networks • Serve as ambassadors for the organisation • Apply a skill set in any of the following desired areas to assist with strategic direction: -HR/IR -Marketing, Promotion and Media -Legal knowledge -Financial Management -Policies and Procedures Our requirements are simple. COM members must: • Be a member of LMCC • Be familiar with the LMCC constitution • Attend Committee meetings every 6 weeks
