About the Organisation

The UNAA Young Professionals (YP) network involves and inspires young professionals throughout Australia in international affairs and the work of the United Nations around the world, through fundraising, awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns. The YP brings together a diverse mix of young professionals from business, law, government, the arts and philanthropy that are mainly between the ages of 25 to 35 years.

About the Role

The Communication and Marketing Manager is responsible for enhancing, developing and growing the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) Victoria Young Professionals (YP) committee’s reputation and branding. The role will contribute significantly to the UNAAV YP committee’s growth in public awareness and support of the work of the UN and the UNAAV YP committee.

Accountabilities

  • Manage marketing, communication and public relations strategy and activity, including developing and monitoring content planner
  • Seeks and identifies communication opportunities and projects that contribute to increasing UNAAV YP’s online presence and reputation 
  • Leads and manages social media activities and collaborates with the Events team at UNAAV YP events including live tweets, Facebook, Linkedin posts, vox pops, news articles and other communication activities, and engaging in conversation with partner organisations 
  • Stays on top of current affairs and plans social media activities accordingly
  • Leads and manages other communication channels including email communications and newsletter development
  • Work with UNAAV office regarding YP content on the UNAAV website 
  • Works with and supports Advocacy and Projects team and Events team to develop and implement communication materials
