Good Neighbors has attained a general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) in 1996. Good Neighbors Australia office was launched in July 2018 under the Good Neighbors’ International Governance. Good Neighbors Australia is one of Good Neighbors' 5 fundraising countries along with the United States, Korea, Japan and Canada. Australia is an ACNC(Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission)registered charity with tax deductible status.

Position Summary Good Neighbors Australia is looking for a Communication/Digital Marketing Intern(Voluntary) to join the team who will share the same passion and support in the organisation’s objective. If you want to make a good change for the lives of others, we would like you to be part of our small but supportive team.

Our Communication/Digital Marketing Intern position is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the growth of Good Neighbors Australia’s communication area. The Communication/Digital Marketing Intern will review our current social media(Facebook, Instagram and Youtube) platforms, assessing the effectiveness and recommending improvements. The purpose of the role is to ensure the increase of traffic to our current social media accounts. Responsibilities include, but not limited to :

1. Social Media Management

  • Manage Good Neighbors Australia’s social media presence on platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Youtube
  • Develop and update engaging content that can be posted across platforms and website
  • Ensure social media accounts are regularly updated and monitored

2. Research

  • Review the latest updates of leading non-profit organisations in Australia
  • Collocate/source information in order to generate newsworthy stories
  • continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices

3. Campaign Support 

  • Organise and assist with events including fundraising events such as city2suf or donor events and fostering community relations through events
  • Develop high-quality promotional materials

About YOU

1. Essential Requirements

  • Experience in creating and updating social media contents
  • Highly motivated, positive and ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Ability to work to deadlines independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships with other stakeholders and people from diverse backgrounds
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in International Development, Social science, Communication and marketing or similar work experience in the Non-profit sector

2. Desirable Requirements

  • Hands-on experience of using common digital advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram
  • Skills in design software such as Canva or Photoshop
  • A demonstrated interest and enthusiasm in the International Development, Community Development and Child Protection sector
  • Bilingual communication skill in Korean & English preferred but not essential

Communication and Digital Marketing Intern is an unpaid position, so we are more than happy to work around your availability. We would love you to contribute one day per week (open to negotiation), and work location will be in North Strathfield. Good Neighbors Australia is small but dynamic organisation and willing to expand the presence in Australia, so it can be a stepping stone for those who have a career aspiration in Non-profit or International Development sector.
