Community Visitors Scheme Volunteers Cantonese ANHF
Volunteer NetworkAustralian Nursing Home Foundation Ltd ANHF is a community-based, non-profit organisation and is one of the largest providers of aged care services to the Chinese and South East Asian communities. The Community Visitors Scheme is a federal government funded initiative that aims to provide companionship and friendship to isolated or lonely residents of the local community. By visiting a resident you have the opportunity to improve their quality of life and keep them connected to the wider community. As a Community Visitor Volunteer we hope that you will develop a friendship with the person you visit and take part in activities that you both enjoy such as listening to music, have a chat over a cup of tea, watch a favourite TV Program together, read the newspaper together, have an outing, go out for a walk or look at photos.
To become a Community Visitors Volunteer we ask for an on-going commitment minimum 6 months. Volunteers must be 18 years or over. All volunteers must attend an Induction of the CVS program, interview and complete a police check before they are matched with a resident in the local community.
