INNER-CITY SPECIAL NEEDS AUTISTIC CHILDREN'S TUTOR
Operation StitchesWe are seeking tutors to assist special needs inner - city public housing children in Collingwood with their education. Many of these children are migrants who are behind in their education skills due to families that often have English as a secondary language. The aim is to give them a love to fit in with their education group and also respite for their often struggling parents We offer you an opportunity to join a vibrant team of volunteers from all walks of life and ages. Weekly tutoring classes will run during Vic school term 3 during the year - 6pm - 8pm at our Collingwood venue - Collingwood 3066. Evening tutoring for spacial needs 15 year old boy student held 6pm - 8pm on Thursday evenings as part of a larger group tutoring session (with cooked meal break halfway for everyone) We are looking for a commitment for at least 1 school term period. Commitment to arrive on time each week of term to this child is strongly emphasised as these young people need consistency and relationship with tutor to achieve.
