Marketing Copywriting Volunteer

Outline of the role: Cancer Council NSW is a community funded, community focused cancer charity dedicated to working towards a cancer free future. There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.

The Direct Marketing Unit is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic volunteer for the position of Marketing Copywriting Volunteer, mainly to support the Gifts in Wills and In Memory Team to enhance supporter relationships by producing case studies.

Based at our Woolloomooloo office, you will report to the Gifts in Wills and In Memory Officer and will undertake a variety of tasks – including coordinating content project, general administration and ad hoc marketing assistant tasks – to maintain and develop quality of contents.

Your key accountabilities will include: • Coordinate content project • Conduct phone/face to face interview with the potential case study supporters • Draft & develop new content including source content and imagery when required • Liaise with stake holders i.e.: team members and contractors • Project management / meeting deadlines • Potential to work on our half yearly newsletters • General administrative tasks including data entry, mailing, filing etc. • Providing general and marketing support (ad hoc tasks when required)

Our ideal volunteer will have: • Ideally studying/studied or have experience in marketing, copywriting, editorial, journalism, PR, public communication or advertising • Excellent attention to detail • Good communication skills, verbal and written • Sound knowledge of related software • Good interpersonal skills • A positive, ‘can do’ attitude • Commitment to the cancer cause and the mission of Cancer Council NSW
