Marketing Intern (Volunteer)

As a vocational learning position, the intern will provide support to the General Manager (GM) on a range of relevant activities, from promoting Open Table in the community, to funding opportunities, marketing and communications.

This position will develop key relationships with the Operations Manager, Marketing and Communications Manager, Social Media Coordinator and Event Coordinators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Research of, and assistance with, the establishment of ongoing partnerships with community organisations
  • Research local and global food-waste initiatives and report on elements of interest to Open Table and its mission
  • Assist with organising Open Table fundraising events
  • Contribute to Open Table’s marketing and growth strategies
  • Develop marketing and media kits, in support to the Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Assist the Social Media Coordinator with channel analysis and engagement reporting/monitoring
  • Maintain and update Open Table’s events calendar, shared drive, image library, business templates and website content
  • Manage, and act as the first point of contact for Open Table’s public email accounts
  • Attend meetings when requested by the GM
  • Maintain weekly communication with the GM
  • Maintain a record of tasks and hours worked on a shared excel document with the GM
  • Other administrative and operational support, as required

Hours: 8 hours per week, flexible, with some supervised hours to be performed on a Friday.

This is a volunteer position. We are looking for a 3 to 6 month commitment from the successful applicant.
