Volunteer to support young people with disabilities – Host Programs

Interchange Network
Logo for Interchange Network

Interchange agencies match children or young people with a disability with a volunteer, who provides care for the child on a regular basis, such as one weekend a month, one day a fortnight or a few hours each week.

Volunteers host the children in their own home or take them on outings in the community.

Volunteers may be individuals, couples or families, with or without children.

Volunteer hosts / mentors provide opportunities for friendships and positive experiences for children with a disability, as well as provide families with a break from their caring role.

Previous experience in caring for a child or young person with a disability is not required. Free training and ongoing support is provided.

Interchange agencies and programs are located across Victoria as well as in Adelaide, South Australia, and Illawarra NSW.

Volunteering opportunities are available at all our agencies. To find your closest agency, visit the Interchange website.

All volunteers are subject to the following mandatory checks (at no cost to the volunteer): police check, Working with Children Check, Home safety and reference check.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
