Community Meals program | Ballarat
Uniting Victoria And TasmaniaThe Breezeway Community Dining Room provides a substantial, hot midday meal every day of the year for people who are marginalised, homeless, living in insecure accommodation and / or have no cooking facilities. It operates from 10.30am to 1.00pm each day and serves approximately 60 meals daily. Take-away meals are also provided which include sandwiches and fruit. The cafe-style environment is also a place of shelter during the winter months. But more than that, Breezeway provides a place to feel safe, to belong, and to connect. We aim for all people to feel welcomed and included in the community.
The Volunteer team assists with preparing and cooking food in the kitchen, serving, setting up chairs and tables, and cleaning. We're looking for motivated people committed to supporting the community. If you have an interest in food and cooking, and have a positive can-do attitude, we would like to hear from you.
