Bonnie's volunteers do not need experience, and do not need to be a member of the parish or even go to church. Bonnie's volunteers need to have a friendly, polite, non-judgemental and respectful disposition; with the ability to relate to and accept people of all types regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, culture, disability or socio-economic standing; and be neat, clean, casual and sober while in the shop.
Bonnie's volunteers sort, prepare and display clothing and other goods in the shop, and ensure that the shop is always clean and tidy. Volunteers may be required to handle cash in accordance with the procedures laid down by Parish Council. Applicants will need to complete the Church Worker application form, and a Police Clearance form [no cost to you] and also provide two references. The Anglican Cathedral of St Boniface is a Not For Profit Organisation. Bonnie's is owned wholly by the Cathedral Parish and has been operating for two years. Bonnie's regularly helps other agencies - in March a donation of $2,600 was made to the South West Refuge.
