About the Organisation

The UNAA Young Professionals (YP) network involves and inspires young professionals throughout Australia in international affairs and the work of the United Nations around the world, through fundraising, awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns. The YP brings together a diverse mix of young professionals from business, law, government, the arts and philanthropy that are mainly between the ages of 25 to 35 years.

About the Role

The Event Coordinator is responsible for the planning and delivery of Young Professional’s events. This will involve liaising closely with the Event Lead and others within the Young Professionals Committee, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure events run smoothly and are well attended.

Accountabilities

  • Work with the Event Lead, Marketing and Communications Lead and
  • Partnerships Lead to develop and promote events.
  • Plan, manage and implement events whilst ensuring smooth delivery and good experience for all attendees including guest speakers.
  • Liaise with guest speakers, coordinate venue and catering hire and support the promotion of the event.
  • Support pre and post event logistics, including event evaluation.
  • Work with the Treasurer to budget and plan appropriately for events, including monitor ticket sales, map projections for participant numbers and cost estimates.
  • Liaise with the Communications and Marketing and Partnerships team to drive marketing content creation and leverage benefits and opportunities from existing partnerships.
  • Assist with the minutes during the event planning meetings with the YP team.

Selection criteria

  • Ability to organise, coordinate and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
  • Interpersonal skills such as stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a diverse team.
  • Event planning experience highly regarded.
  • Experience in managing online events through digital platforms such as Zoom desired.
