    Skills & Experience Required
    The following skills and experience will be needed in order to fulfil this role:
    • Gardening and/or landscaping experience would be beneficial
    • well-developed time management and daily planning skills

    Other Requirements
    This position requires you to be physically able to do any and all the following tasks for reasonable periods:
    • kneel and squat
    • work on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces
    • lift and carry equipment and supplies (with support for heavy items)

Our Hoofbeats Sanctuary is in the middle of moving to a 5-acre facility in Doonan on the Sunshine Coast. This is an old facility that has not seen much care in many years. We would like to bring new life to the facility by creating some peaceful garden spaces for our program participants and volunteers to enjoy.

A sensory garden, healing herbs garden and floral garden are all needed. The gardening team will be responsible for planning and implementing the gardens as well as for the general upkeep of the garden areas.

Responsibilities • participate within a team to ensure that our garden areas are neat, tidy and attractive • identify issues/problems as they occur and suggest solutions • adapt to a changing environment • comply with team leader instructions • participate and contribute positively as a team member to achieve team objectives • provide assistance to team members to successfully achieve work plans and tasks within time frames • provide guidance and training to others within the scope of competency • comply IGAB’s safety requirements and report all non-compliance to the team leader • comply with IGAB policies • take all reasonable care for personal health and safety; and take reasonable care that personal acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons
