    Skills & Experience Required
    The following skills and experience will be needed in order to fulfill this role:
    • experience in operating in a team environment, in particular sharing workloads and supporting colleagues in a positive manner
    • well-developed time management and daily planning skills
    • the ability to use the tools and equipment needed to carry out the required tasks including general tools, power tools, lawn mower and whipper snipper, ride-on mower etc.

    This position requires you to be physically able to do any and all the following tasks for reasonable periods:
    • work at heights
    • climb ladders
    • kneel and squat
    • access roofs
    • work on uneven surfaces
    • lift and carry irregular loads

Our Hoofbeats Program operates from a 5-acre facility in Doonan on the Sunshine Coast. The role of Maintenance Team is to keep our Doonan facility in a neat, tidy and safe condition to ensure the well-being of our horses, program participants and volunteers. The types of tasks you may be required to work on include: erecting and repairing fences and gates, repair and maintenance of stable buildings, washing and cleaning of external walls of buildings, cyclical preventative maintenance jobs including gutter & roof cleaning, window washing, painting, installation of drains, maintaining paddocks and garden areas including weeding, mowing, raking and mulching.

Responsibilities • participate either within a team or individually in the repair, maintenance and construction duties associated with the premises • implement maintenance schedules and monthly safety checks • provide assistance to the Facilities Manager • identify issues/problems as they occur and suggest solutions • commit to achieving quality outcomes • adapt to a changing environment • comply with team leader instructions • participate and contribute positively as a team member to achieve the agreed work plans and team objectives • make a positive contribution to team work plans • provide assistance to team members to successfully achieve work plans and tasks within time frames • provide guidance and training to others within the scope of competency and technical expertise • ensure work environments are clean and safe • comply IGAB’s safety requirements and report all non-compliance to the team leader • comply with IGAB policies • take reasonable care for personal health and safety; and take reasonable care that personal acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons
