Friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers are being sought to assist with upcoming HSC support sessions in Maths, English and Science (Chemistry and Biology).
There are two sessions from 5.30pm-8.30pm on Thursday 25 July and Thursday, 19 September at Chatswood Library. You can volunteer for one or both sessions. These sessions will be attended by HSC students who will bring their work with them, along with any questions they may have.
As volunteer tutors you will be assisting individuals or small groups with any issues or questions they may have. It is important that you are confident and knowledgeable in your subject and are comfortable with assisting others and guiding them through different concepts or explanations.
You do not require specialised teaching background, but you do need to have knowledge in the nominated subject, beyond HSC level.
You should be confident and comfortable explaining concepts to students, be friendly and approachable, making a pleasant atmosphere for participants. Advanced English literacy and oracy required.
