Community Services #1Community Services #1 is a community based profit-for-purpose organisation, in Narrabundah, that manages and delivers a range of community programs, such as family support services, children’s services and aged care programs. The CS#1 Food Pantry is a small community food outlet for people with a genuine need or those who are on a limited income. It makes good food and quality household products affordable and accessible.
Food Pantry Volunteer details and requirements The Pantry is open Monday to Friday during business hours
• CS#1 is happy to place volunteers for an hour or two or more • A range of volunteers are need that can be catered for individuals' abilities . You are required to hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People card • You are required to hold an ACT Food Safety Certificate, or be willing to complete the free online course (approximately 2 hours) prior to your first shift
You will be successful in the Food Pantry Volunteer role if you • are genuinely interested in working as part of a team that positively contributes to the Canberra community • are friendly, attentive and a good communicator • have experience in, or the ability to quickly learn, money handling procedures • are able to work independently and as part of a team • are willing to attend Volunteer Information sessions as required
