As a volunteer you will be required to undertake the following: • Assist with supporting reading and writing skills. • Support and supervise young people participating in educational programs • Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to the individual young person’s learning ability. • Support the young person with their homework • Involve young person in their educational progress through obtaining and incorporating their feedback • Reinforce the importance of education through conversation and role-modelling. • Model appropriate study & problem solving skills • Use effective active listening, communication and negotiation skills to build rapport and to de-escalate emotional and/or challenging situations which may arise. • Refer any identified needs of the young person to the Caseworker
