INNER-CITY MIGRANT MIDDLE + SENIOR CHILDREN'S TUTOR

We are seeking tutors to assist senior grade inner-city public housing children in Collingwood with their education. Many of these children are migrants who are behind in their education skills due to families that often have English as a secondary language. They are in need of tutoring to explore and assist them catch up to their peers in any education skills so that they will enjoy school and learning. The aim is to give them a love for education while they are still young = helping them to not only stay in school but to excel in their education We offer you an opportunity to join a vibrant team of volunteers from all walks of life and ages. Weekly tutoring classes will run during Vic school terms 2 + 3 during the year - 6pm - 8pm at our Collingwood venue - Harmsworth Community Hall, 31-33 Harmsworth Street, Collingwood 3066.

Tutoring is for Vic school term 2+ 3 - Commencing Wednesday April 15, 2020 (attending prior mandatory orientation & training session is essential) Evening tutoring for senior students held 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday evenings (with cooked meal break halfway for everyone) We are looking for a commitment for at least 1 school term period. Commitment to arrive on time each week of term to these children is strongly emphasised as these young people need consistency and relationship with tutor to achieve.
